SEASON TWO RECAP
|
A
Family At Odds
|
|
The Ormand family broke apart after Beau witnessed his
mother murder Gene Sorenson. Despite his shattered loyalties
and the discovery of his mother's darker side, he couldn't
bear to turn her in for the crime. Beau moved out of
the Ormand home, and out of his mother's life. Remy
and Charlie also kept their distance from Giselle, who
felt very isolated and alone. Still, she had Vincent
on her side more than ever, which continued to gnaw
at Martine.
Beau
began dating an old flame, Elena Halstrom. The two had
attended prep school together, and Elena was interested
in rekindling their shared connection. She helped Beau
forget his troubles with his family and attempt to move
on with his life, facing an uncertain future. Giselle
held a deep resentment toward Elena. Beau figured it
was because Giselle felt Elena was pressuring him to
keep his mother at a distance, but the truth ran far
deeper than that. Elena was Gene Sorenson's daughter,
who he had given up for adoption at an early age. Neither
Giselle nor Elena were anxious for that information
to become public knowledge. With Pete about to face
trial for his crimes, Elena feared she would become
the town pariah if the truth about her relationship
with the Sorensons was exposed.
Meanwhile, Beau and his ruthless attorney,
Nelson Fletcher, uncovered the truth about Giselle's
bad business deal with Gene Sorenson. Beau felt guilty
for what his mother had done to the Sorenson family
and tried to right that wrong by supporting Pete at
his trial. As one of Pete's victims however, Tisha Bradley's
emotional testimony sealed Pete's fate. He was found
guilty. Still, presented privately with the information
Beau and Nelson had unearthed, Giselle was forced to
give up half of the Highwind empire to the Sorensons
or face criminal action. Since Pete was now behind bars,
he wanted his share of the Highwind to be controlled
by Elena, his half-sister.

Tainted
Love
|
|
Erin and Charlie learned about Erin's pregnancy. Erin
was in for a double shock when she met Abe Emery, the
half brother she never knew she had. Abe was the product
of her father's affair with his secretary, and nobody
knew of his existence for all these years. Still, he
was curious to connect with his newfound family and
to learn more about them. Erin tried to open up to Abe,
but their interaction was strained and awkward.
Because Erin had been taking experimental
drugs for her recurring migraines, she was worried about
the possible side effects on her unborn child. She kept
her fears to herself and made an appointment to visit
Hal Roman, a prenatal specialist. Hal said Erin's pregnancy
was going smoothly, but he was concerned something may
go wrong down the road and recommended ongoing checkups.
At the same time, a mysterious woman from Charlie's
past showed up on the Guthrie doorstep. She was Kerrigan,
Charlie's wife who was believed to have died in a boating
accident nearly five years earlier. Kerri was ready
to pick up where she left off with Charlie, but he was
forced to explain that he had moved on. Charlie wanted
to be with Erin now.
Martine's world began to
crumble with the increasing distance between her and
Vincent. She was also at constant odds with Josie. She
was losing everything and beginning to realize how alone
she truly was. After initially mistaking her for Vincent's
mistress, Martine went on to develop a close friendship
with another lonely soul, Kerrigan. Martine promised
to help Kerrigan get Charlie back, despite Kerrigan's
insistence that she didn't want her ex-husband anymore.
In other romantic entanglements,
Misty Bradley was playing matchmaker with her twin brother,
BJ, and her best friend, Eden Redding. Eden was excited
at the prospect. She'd had a crush on BJ for some time
now. BJ was resistent at first, but seemed to slowly
come around to the idea, as he saw Eden in a new light.
Sonya and Jasper's relationship
was on the rocks. The secrets she kept hidden from her
boyfriend put a strain on their relationship. Sonya
was afraid to come clean about the things she'd done
-- including poisoning Pete Sorenson's IV bag at Giselle's
command. She knew Jasper would never understand...
Even after breaking things
off with Elisabeth, Remy still wouldn't allow himself
to be manipulated by Josie. Josie refused to give up.
Elisabeth tried to make Remy jealous by hitting on the
first guy she met at Remy's club. Unfortunately, her
mystery fling was her heretofore unknown half-brother,
Abe. The two hit it off, oblivious to their true connection
as brother and sister.

The
Masquerade
|
|
For months, Giselle Ormand had been planning a showstopping
Masquerade Ball, hoping to make the public forget about
the disaster that was the Highwind Anniversary Hostage
Crisis. On the night of the party, however, Nelson convinced
Elena to come forward and confess she was a Sorenson.
In doing so, Elena gained control of her family's fair
share of the Highwind. Elena relished the opportunity
to be on equal footing with Giselle, but Giselle and
Vincent privately seethed and plotted their revenge.
Sonya came clean to Jasper about her
crimes at the Masquerade. She knew what was at risk,
but could no longer keep the truth from him. This wasn't
the woman Jasper had fallen in love with, and he wasn't
sure he could forgive her for her lies. They broke up,
and Sonya was devastated.
After sharing a dance and a steamy encounter
at the ball, Elisabeth and Abe were finally formally
introduced to one another in the most mortifying of
ways. Elisabeth's mother caught the two of them together
just as they were about to consummate their relationship.
They were apalled by their romance, and Elisabeth never
wanted to see Abe again, brother or not!
Charlie
found himself in hot water the same night, when he and
Erin had a run-in with Kerrigan. Charlie was still struggling
to reconcile his emotions for her and hadn't talked
about the situation with Erin yet. Kerri, for her part,
was hurt to discover that Erin was pregnant with Charlie's
child. She hadn't realized just how serious Charlie's
new relationship was until that moment. She lashed out
by introducing herself to Erin as Charlie's wife. Erin
thought she was joking, but when it became clear that
she was serious, Erin was crushed. She ran off, leaving
Charlie with a lot of explaining to do.
As if that weren't enough drama for one
night, a power failure plunged the Highwind's grand
ballroom into darkness. The guests panicked during the
blackout, and when the emergency power supply kicked
in a few minutes later, everyone was horrified to discover
Nelson Fletcher's dead body at the base of the marble
staircase -- and Giselle Ormand with blood on her hands.
Nelson's mysterious death prompted Beau and Elena to
once again question the lengths Giselle would go to
to protect the Highwind.
