SEASON THREE RECAP
|
Accidental
Death?
|
|
At
the beginning of the third season, the question on everyone's
minds was what happened to Nelson Fletcher at the Masquerade
Ball? The death was being investigated as an accident,
but Giselle Ormand and Vincent Guthrie were the prime
suspects, especially as far as Beau and Elena were concerned.
Elena thought one of them must have killed Nelson, after
he'd helped her become a co-owner of the Highwind. Beau
wanted to believe his mother could never do something
so horrible, but he knew all too well what Giselle was
capable of. Elena, for her part, was afraid she might
be next if Giselle and Vincent were truly out for revenge.
Another unlikely set of suspects were
the Bradleys, Benton and Tisha. Nelson Fletcher had
a sleazy history with Tisha, having used her for sex
while the two were in college. When Benton found out,
he could hardly restrain himself from attacking Nelson
on the spot at the Masquerade. Misty Bradley heard her
parents' secrets and knew about her mother's past with
Nelson. When Nelson turned up dead, Misty feared that
her parents were somehow involved in his death.
Most of the St. Laurent police force
seemed to think Nelson Fletcher's death was an accident,
a tragic fall taken during the momentary blackout, but
officer Jasper Kent remained suspicious.

The
Case of the Ex
|
|
Elisabeth was devastated in the wake of learning that
Abe was her half-brother. Their flirtation and the friendship
the two of them had developed was shattered in an instant,
and she felt she had nobody to turn to. Abe tried to
be her friend and forget about what had almost happened
between the two of them, but Elisabeth was embarrassed
and ashamed. She pushed him away, wishing she'd never
met him at all.
Abe attempted to move on and forget Elisabeth.
He called up an old friend, Priscilla Domingo, who was
in town. Priscilla had more pressing concerns. She was
a pregnant widow now, and hardly the carefree woman
Abe remembered from his modeling days.
Elisabeth also eager to move forward.
She decided to give Remy Ormand another chance, hoping
his affection for her would be just what she needed
to forget the past few months with Abe. Remy realized
he was in love with Elisabeth and would do anything
to make things work between them the second time around.
But Josie Singer still had designs on him, and she still
had several tricks up her sleeve to get him back. Josie
convinced Remy to hire her at the Bel Ami Club, and
when Elisabeth found out, she accused him of lying to
her about his feelings for Josie.
Remy finally managed to set the record
straight when he told Elisabeth he loved her, and that
he would never be with Josie again. Josie realized this
as well and gave up her quest to win over a man who
would clearly never be in love with her.
On another romantic front, Misty Bradley's
matchmaking attempts seemed to finally take hold, and
her friend Eden began dating her brother, BJ. But soon,
she was about to find herself in a romantic predicament
of her own. The St. Laurent police ruled Nelson's death
accidental, but Jasper Kent was still suspicious, after
witnessing Misty Bradley's nervous behavior. Hoping
to get more information from her, he invited her to
lunch, hoping she'd tell him what was on her mind.
The two of them were surprised to find
themselves enjoyed each other's company. Jasper spent
so much time asking her about herself that they never
got around to talking about her parents or the police
investigation. Misty had never been more nervous, and
she wasn't sure if it was because she was worried about
her parents' role in Nelson's death -- or because she
was falling for an older man...
Sonya Cortes caught the two of them dining
together, and, fresh off her breakup with Jasper, pried
for information about his 'date' with Misty. Jasper
maintained that it was strictly business, though Sonya
knew him well enough to detect that he may have had
feelings for Misty.

Confessions
|
|
After their blow-up at the Masquerade, Erin wondered
if she'd ever be able to fully trust Charlie again.
She didn't understand how he could have kept Kerrigan
a secret from her for so long. Realizing she had a secret
of her own, the fact that she could face a complicated
pregnancy, Erin resolved to give Charlie a chance to
explain. If they were going to patch things up as a
couple, they would both have to be honest with each
other.
Charlie came to Erin and tried to explain.
He told her everything about Kerrigan and her 'death'
in the boating accident. Erin was the first woman he
could allow himself to get involved with again after
losing Kerri. She was the one who finally helped him
get over her, and he didn't want that awful memory hovering
over the two of them. Erin wished he would have opened
up to her sooner, but she realized how hard Charlie
must have had it all these years living with that pain.
Then it was Erin's turn to come clean.
She told Charlie about the drugs she'd taken for her
migraines, and how she was worried about the possible
side-effects on her child. She said she'd been seeing
a specialist, Dr. Hal Roman, who was closely monitoring
her pregnancy to prevent any complications. Charlie
and Erin forgave each other and reunited, deciding to
tackle their problems head-on.
Kerrigan was hurt by Charlie and Erin's
relationship, especially the fact that Erin was pregnant.
She refused to fight for him, knowing where his heart
was now. Charlie asked Kerri for an official divorce,
and she sadly granted his request, knowing what the
two of them had together was over.

The
Highwind Power Struggle
|
|
As the new co-owner of the Highwind Resort, Elena threw
herself into the thick of the business's inner workings.
She demanded a significant role in the Highwind's operation,
though she was still leery of Giselle. She quickly realized
Giselle had an iron-fist approach to running the Highwind,
and that Giselle would do anything to keep Elena as
powerless as possible.
When
Kerrigan decided to stay in St. Laurent to get to the
bottom of her accident, Vincent helped her land a job
at the Highwind. Elena was quick to latch on to Kerrigan
as an ally, since she was a brand new employee with
no allegiance to Giselle. The two of them schemed against
Giselle, with Kerri promising to keep Elena informed
if Giselle intended to try anything devious against
her new rival.
Kerrigan was quick to pick up her first
bit of Highwind gossip. She overheard a conversation
between Vincent Guthrie and Monique Champlain, a Highwind
staffer. Vincent was pressuring Monique about Nelson's
fall at the masquerade. Monique had apparently witnessed
the event, and she said Nelson's death was an accident.
She was scared to talk to the police, but Vincent bribed
her to tell all, hoping to save Giselle from further
suspicion. After his prodding, Monique went to the police
with her story, and they ruled his death accidental.
Meanwhile, Elena continued to bicker
with Giselle on a daily basis. The two couldn't agree
even on the smallest of things. Beau felt torn between
his mother and his girlfriend's constant sniping at
one another. He only wanted the two of them to get along,
so he didn't have to choose sides. He was afraid Elena
was becoming too much like his mother -- cold and calculating
in her quest for control. Beau ran into his brother's
ex-wife, Kerri, and learned she was working at the Highwind.
Her easygoing nature was a nice change of pace from
Elena's newfound intensity. Beau found himself enjoying
getting to know her better...
When Giselle had to leave St. Laurent
for an investors' conference in Vail, Colorado, she
invited Vincent along. He was eager to get away from
his crumbling relationship with Martine her continuing
feud with her daughter. Giselle and Vincent were happy
to take a much-needed vacation from the Highwind Resort.
While they were gone, Elena snuck into Giselle's office,
digging for intel. She was shocked to discover Giselle's
elaborate security setup which included hidden cameras
in nearly every corner of the Highwind. The biggest
shocker of all, however, was when Elena discovered Beau
and Kerri sharing an impulsive kiss while she watched
on the surveillance monitors. Afraid she was about to
lose Beau for good, Elena made a drastic move, proposing
to Beau and suggesting the two of them elope.
In Vail, Vincent had the same idea. After
all the time he'd spent reconnecting with Giselle, he
sprung a surprise marriage proposal on his former love...

Doctor
of Deception
|
|
As Erin's pregnancy progressed, her oddball doctor,
Hal Roman, became more and more involved in her case.
Erin came to rely on him and his medical advice, but
his true motives were not so benevolent. He had actually
lost his medical license for testing experimental drugs
on his patients years earlier, but Erin and Charlie
knew nothing of this.
It was Sonya and Priscilla Domingo who
together discovered what Hal was truly up to. He had
been conducting a new round of experiments and tests
on both Erin and Priscilla Domingo and their unborn
children! By the time Sonya's investigation turned up
this startling information, however, Erin was at the
clinic and oblivious to the peril she was about to find
herself in.
While Sonya, Charlie, and Priscilla raced
to stop Hal, he was furthering his devious plot with
Erin. She had been drugged and was in a daze, imagining
herself drifting through a dreamlike world. In her visions,
she saw the visage of her daughter crying out for help.
Meanwhile, Hal was delivering her baby while she was
unconscious, hoping to make a quick getaway with the
child.
When Erin awoke from her sedated state,
she immediately asked about her child. Hal told her
the baby was dead, but Erin believed it to be a lie.
Later, when Erin heard Hal and a nurse conspiring outside
her room, she realized she was right -- Hal must be
lying to her -- and physically attacked a nurse in a
desperate attempt to find her child.
At the same time, Charlie and Sonya rushed
to Erin's aid. They broke into the clinic just in time
to find Hal with the baby in his arms. In order to save
himself, Hal left the child -- his research project
-- behind and made a getaway, racing out a back entry
of the clinic. Erin and Charlie were reunited with their
child, but Hal was still on the loose. He ran into a
stroke of luck when he came across Priscilla in the
parking lot. He attacked her and took her hostage, making
his ultimate escape by stealing her car and leaving
his clinic behind for good.
